The nature of today’s society means we often neglect the beautiful for the sake of expediency. By doing so, we leave behind part of our humanity.
My name is Nathan Culshaw. I write music for film, games and media.
Music that is beautiful.
Currently studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Australia, I am honing my compositional craft in writing music, when united with visuals, produces beautiful works of art. My compositions can be in many different styles and genres, but all these styles share the one element that humans universally understand – beauty. While I primarily enjoy writing for vocals, I also write for orchestra, and often create pulsing electronic music. I value flowing melodies, lush harmonies and colours, and intensity.
Whatever the style or genre, my music seeks to bring one away from ugliness of the world, into a place that gives elation in joy, and consolation in suffering. Music must be a movement for good, and it achieves this through being beautiful.
Recently, I have created the game Mechaniote; a journey for a voice.
